Ever view TV programs like "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" and think to yourself, "Hey, I do want to be a millionaire!" Ever seen "Jeopardy" and ponder aloud, "My thumb knows more than these contestants." You feel like you could win a game show? Maybe want to go home with heavier pockets and a wider smile? With a $200 cash prize? Head on over to Lancer Productions' ThinkFast Game Show, soon to be hosted in Wygal Auditorium at 9 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 28.
According to the Lancer Productions website, "The ThinkFast game is a combination of music videos, multiple choice trivia and survey questions." To win, you have to claw your way to the top, you and your teammates.
The ThinkFast Game Show originates from "Think Fast!" a children's game show from the late '80s and early '90s. With the slogan, "The game where fast feet and fast minds add up to fast prizes," ThinkFast combines physical challenges and popular culture trivia to create a fun and challenging experience.
Lancer Productions' ThinkFast will be set as "a combination of music videos, multiple choice trivia and survey questions," as stated on the Lancer Productions website. "The teams that answer correctly and the fastest win the most points. The teams with the most points are given the opportunity to advance to the next level."
Freshman Marissa Del Priore found out about this Sunday's event and said, "It sounds like fun because I would like to test my Pop Culture skills and maybe win 200 bucks."
Freshman Natalee Rombough agreed, saying, "Dang! I'll totally attend," after hearing of the cash prize.
Both students admitted having attended previous Lancer Productions events before, but never regularly. "I've been to a couple [events], but it's not like a regular thing," stated Del Priore.
Even so, Rombough complimented Lancer Productions. "I like the music, the musicians that they bring in. The highlighter party was totally fun. I like when they show movies. ‘Oh, hey! That's a really good movie.' So, I go see it."
Even if you aren't lucky enough to be one of the contestants, don't lose hope. You might just catch yourself a Wild Card. What is a Wild Card? Wild Cards are "teams that are indiscriminately selected to take control of the game from high scoring teams," stated the Lancer Productions websites.
Del Priore commented on her interest in game shows, saying, "I love game shows. I grew up watching game shows with my grandpa. We would watch ‘The Price is Right' every day."
Rombough felt the same way, having played trivia games before. "You know Catch Phrase? Oh, my gosh. I'm so good at that game. I don't mean to brag, but I'm just telling the truth." She also commented on that she enjoys watching game shows on TV.
Feeling confident, Rombough said, "I think I would win because I can think fast." Feel the same?
If you think you're quick, if you think you're smart and if you think you're ready, head on over to Wygal Auditorium this Sunday evening, and make the beginning of your school year feel even more rewarding than you ever expected.
