'NCIS': Cupids and Vigilantes

"NCIS" starts off the way it has since the start of the first season. A brutal murder of a military officer and an innocent passerby after a menac ing call. After the credits, it is revealed that Ziva has received a speeding ticket. Finally! The agent makes everyone nervous with the way she drives.

Tony manages to get his head slapped by Gibbs for revealing that he gets free doughnuts and cof fee. At the crime scene, it is revealed that the of ficer was a "Real Life Superhero." At this point, it seemed the show was starting to jump the shark.

At Vance's office, a woman is there, and Gibbs somehow knows her. Vance is under the impres sion that Gibbs has married her, but he is incor rect. The woman is known as Miller, and she is writing an article about the military officer and how he was managing Nukes from Russia.

She agrees to not reveal any information that she gets in exchange to being kept in the loop about the case by an agent. In this case, the agent is Tony. Tony has just learned that Abby found the identity of a potential suspect is discovered when Gibbs brings Miller down to him.

It is later revealed that Miller is Tony's ex-fiancée Wendy, some thing that causes Ziva and McGee to eavesdrop on their conversation when they're alone in the conference room. Back at the morgue, Ducky finds that the victim has had a broken jaw, knife wounds and a bullet graze. Abby finds some DNA from the nails left at the crime scene.

Out on the field, Ziva asks Tony about Wendy. It is clear that Tony doesn't want to talk when he slams on the brakes. It is revealed that Wendy was following them and that someone had planted a bomb in her car. Vance, who somehow found out about Tony and Wendy's former relationship, makes sure that Tony takes her to a safe house.

When they think they're alone, Tony and Wendy … kiss! And the hearts of thousands of "Tiva" ship pers instantly broke into a million pieces. When Tony and McGee are on stakeout, Tony spots a woman standing on a corner. She runs away, and Tony runs after her followed by McGee. It's clear that the woman is another superhero, who is ac companied by their suspect.

While at HQ, the suspect compares himself to Gibbs, who will never give him an ounce of sym pathy. Anyone who knows Gibbs will tell him that. He reveals that he had staged that fight. He had broken into the shop to get his payment. The phone signal that was found at the scene was the same guy who helped Tony and Ziva find a plate number.

At the scene, it is revealed that it was the butler. This is a big disappointment to Tony for not mak ing a joke about how it had been the butler. The man, who had been thought to be killing his com petition, stops the butler and then bows to Gibbs. Surprisingly, Gibbs bows back.

Here's to hoping that next week's episode is just as good as the ones it follows.
