The DOs and DO NOTs of the Gym

 DOs

1. Do wear deodorant. This is for you and others around you. No one wants to smell body odor, plus you don't want to be known as the stinky person at the gym.

2. Do re-rack your weights. I know there is a weight room at tendant, but their job isn't to clean up after you. If you take the weights out, you put them back.

3. Do wipe down equipment. This is both hygienic and neces sary.

4. Do follow the dress code. The dress code is stated at the front desk and on the walls throughout the gym.

5. Do perform exercises correctly; the fitness staff at the gym will be more than happy to show you how to use equipment cor rectly.

6. Do take advantage of the Olympic Lifting Room. This room has plenty of space to perform Olympic lifting movements with out people getting in your way.

7. Do wear the necessary undergarments needed to secure body parts; undergarments such as sports bras, proper underwear, etc.

DO NOTs

1. Do not stand in front of the dumbbells to do your exercises. Get the dumbbells and move to the side. Other people would like to get weights without interrupting your set or getting hit.

2. Do not hog the machines during busy hours; other people would like to exercise too.

3. Do not curl in the squat rack. The squat rack is for squatting and other lifts similar to squats.

4. Do not jump on a machine someone else was using unless you are sure they are done. They may have just gotten water, so be courteous.

5. Do not grunt when lifting. No one wants to hear grunting during their workout, and bets are if you are grunting, you are probably lifting weights that are too heavy.

6. Do not pose in the mirror. This one is pretty self-explanatory. That is what your mirror at home is for.

7. Do not talk on your phone or Bluetooth at the gym. No one wants to hear your conversation, and no phones are allowed to be in use at the gym, anyway.
