This week's episode started off with what appeared to be a robbery, but was later revealed to be a murder (cue dramatic music and pose). In the opening scene, a woman walks into a room only to see a man storm out, and then finds the body. Screams are later heard as the scene pans out to a glass of wine being poured.
Meanwhile, Beckett discovers that Castle is backing away. When she's called in on the case, Castle arrives with a hot date. An awkward conversation occurs between Castle and Beckett, and it's discovered that the victim is a British national - and that it wasn't a robbery as her wallet is untouched.
It's clear that there was a struggle, and Beckett thinks it might be a one-night stand gone wrong. It's later shown that the victim was a model. The boss tells Beckett and Castle that the victim had been making some unconventional bookings.
Ryan finds a shoeprint at the victim's hotel room, and it's matched to the man who left their victim's room at the motel. After tracking down the suspect, Beckett confronts him and asks for his hands in the air. It is revealed that the man is both naked and with Scotland Yard. He looked after the victim, and arrived after the victim called about someone following her.
Beckett gets an in with the captain, something which irks Castle - as he has had his issues with the captain before. After multiple interviews, the medical examiner gives the team a needed lead. The victim's larynx was crushed, making it clear that the murderer was strong and probably male, as strangulation is commonly a male way of killing - females usually grab poison.
Beckett finds a locker their victim had checked out the day she died and finds a mysterious picture of a strange man. Research pulls up that the man is a British consulate worker, giving him international immunity unless tied to a murder. Both Beckett and Castle cook up insane plans to try to get the man's prints. Beckett's works . . . until it is revealed that their suspect wasn't their man as the prints aren't a match.
Castle finds out that the number written on the back of the picture was a code for RAE shipping. Their Scotland Yard helper sneaks in to the airport and finds that there were weapons in the crate that was being shipped. A few more interviews later, it is revealed that their suspect was involved after all.
After wrapping up the case, Mr. Scotland Yard reveals that he was go back to London to face the music. Before leaving, he asks Beckett if he can buy her a drink. She refuses, but changes her mind after Castle reveals that he has a date with the same woman for the fourth time. When Beckett states that the woman doesn't seem like Castle's type, Castle shoots back that she was "simple and uncomplicated." Not very descriptive for a writer, Mr. Castle. Tsk-Tsk.
