On Saturday, Oct.19 from 11-1 p.m., Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority will be hosting their annual Cystic Fibrosis Walk. The cost is $3.00 prior to the event and $5.00 on the day of event. The walk will take place behind
Lankford Student Union. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is AST’s local philanthropy and they work to raise money to be able to help find a cure prevent the disease in the future.
What is Cystic Fibrosis? Cystic Fibrosis is a disease that affects the lungs and digestive system by producing thick mucus that hinders the breakdown of enzymes. Many people are affected by this life-threatening disease nationwide and are expected to only live to their 30s or 40s.
AST will table at Dorrill Dining Hall for registration prior to the walk from Oct. 16- 18. All proceeds will be donated toward the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. AST hopes to see you there!
