Spring Weekend 2014 is fast approaching! There is a wide array of performers this year that is sure to appease every kind of musical appetite.
First up on Lancer stage, performing from 12:15 to 1:15, is Adelee & Gentry. Adelee & Gentry Gates are sister pop performers whose debut album is entitled “Nice To Meet You...” The duo writes as well as performs their own songs with beautiful harmonies and a lovely acoustic sound.
At 1:30 p.m., there will be a cover band called Party of Four. Covering jangle pop hits from the ‘80s and ‘90s, Party of Four is sure to make you feel nostalgic, reminding you of your youth.
At 2:45 p.m. The Northerners will be performing. The Northerners are a unique band with an Americana feel and a classic rock/folk sound. Big in the Richmond music scene, The Northerners are a talented group of musicians that are not to be missed.
Lonely Biscuits will be performing at 4 p.m. on Lancer stage. This group met at Belmont University in 2011 and have been going strong ever since. Their blend of soul, funk and hip hop produces a mellow sound that will have you singing along.
Frenchie Davis, former “America Idol” and “The Voice” contestant, will be performing at 5:15 p.m. Davis has been a Grammy nominee and also starred in the Broadway productions of “RENT,” “Dreamgirls,” “Ain’t Misbehavin’” and the Rodgers & Hammerstein classic “Cinderella Enchanted.” Davis has a great dance single out right now entitled “Love’s Got a Hold on Me.” She has a powerful voice and her dance hits are something that you also do not want to miss.
Radical Something will hit the stage at 6:30 p.m. With hits like “We Were Just Kids” and “Ride It Out” sweeping the nation, this band is sure to be popular among Longwood students. This band blends hip hop, reggae and soul to produce an addictive sound that will stick with you long after the performance is over.
DJ Trademark will be bringing his mash ups to Longwood at 7:45 p.m. DJ Trademark, aka Tyler McMurray, puts a spin on Top 40 hits that give them a whole new sound, and his performance is sure to make you want to get up and dance. Finally, at 9 p.m., Hoodie Allen will be our last and possibly most anticipated performer on the Lancer stage. This hip hop artist has been writing music since his childhood and it has definitely paid off. With hits like “Cake Boy” and “Fame is for Assholes” climbing the charts,
Hoodie Allen is the perfect performer to close up Spring Weekend 2014. Don’t miss out on all of these exciting performers as well as the booths that will be set up by your favorite Longwood organizations.
