Winners of the Citizen Leadership Awards to be Announced on Sunday

The office of Leadership & Service Learning will announce the winners of their annual Citizen Leadership Awards at the Citizen Leadership Awards Luncheon on Sunday, April 13. Every spring semester, the office asks for nominations for each award, which can be submitted online or in person at the Lankford Student Union via a nomination form.

There are many categories that the awards fall under. These categories include Individual Student Awards, Student Organization Awards, Faculty/Staff Awards and Student Employment Awards. Individual Student Awards include Emerging Leader Award, Honor and Integrity Award, Distinguished Senior Contributions Award, Rotunda Award for Community Building, Joan of Arc Visionary Leadership Award, Citizen Leader Award, Outstanding New Commuter, Outstanding Commuter Student, Outstanding New Residential Student, Outstanding Residential Student, The Ellen Master Award for Significant Service and Outstanding Graduate Student Award.

Student Organization Awards include Outstanding Service by a Student Organization Award, Citizen Leader Organization Award, Most Improved Student Organization Award and the

Emerging Student Organization Award. Faculty/Staff Awards include Outstanding Student Organization Advisor and the Faculty Staff Citizen Leader Award.

Student Employment Awards include Student Employee of the Year and Supervisor of the Year. To qualify for all Student Awards, each candidate must have a 2.5 cumulative grade point average and be in good standing with the university. So around this time next year ask yourself the question, “Do you know a student, student organization, student employee and/or a faculty/ staff member who embodies the qualities of a citizen leader?” If so, you can nominate them in spring 2015 for the 2015 Citizen Leadership Awards.
