Following the recent selection of Farmville’s new Chief of Police, numerous changes have been made within the Farmville Police Department that will have a significant impact on the officers.
According to Acting Chief A. Q. Ellington in a press release, promotions and transfers were recently awarded to four officers.
• Detective David Ragland was promoted to Patrol Sgt. and is now assigned to “D Squad” on the night shift.
• Sergeant Johnny Garrett was promoted to Patrol Lt. and will be responsible for the overall supervision of all patrol shifts.
• Corporal Albert Bappert has transferred from the Patrol Division to Special Operations as a new Detective.
• Officer Stewart Godsey has been promoted to Cpl. and will also be assigned to “D Squad” night shift.
“I would like to commend each of these Police Officers for their accomplishments,” said Ellington. “Each of them are hard working, dedicated officers, and I know they will continue to promote the mission of the Farmville Police Department.”
According to Ellington, providing a safe community through excellence and public service is of the utmost importance to the department and that they are fortunate to have such dedicated officers that are willing to make this a reality.
