Missing Longwood student AJ Hadsell’s father was arrested and jailed earlier today on six charges.
According to WAVY, Wesley Hadsell, 36, was questioned by police for 15 hours before being apprehended.
Hadsell was detained after being accused of four obstruction of justice charges, one charge of possessing ammunition following a felony and one charge of breaking and entering.
“I’d do anything for my daughter, my wife, my kids, and they make it sound like I’d do anything to keep myself out of trouble,” Hadsell told WAVY.
Hadsell is positive AJ was taken—the reason he broke into the home of someone he believes took her against her will, leading to her disappearance.
“I couldn’t sit a minute away from where my daughter may have been,” said Hadsell.
Police still have yet to say foul play is involved in AJ’s missing status, and told WAVY they have no suspects.
WAVY said Hadsell spent just under 20 minutes inside the persons home, tearing through trash and attempting to find any evidence leading to where AJ might be—he allegedly punched the family’s dog out of anger, claiming to have found evidence while searching through furniture.
“I found my daughter’s jacket in his couch rolled up behind the cushion,” Hadsell said.
According to WAVY, while searching Hadsell’s hotel room, police found 72 rounds of nine-millimeter ammunition.
Hadsell didn’t refute any of the charges, and has been in trouble with the law in the past on multiple occasions. He called himself “a changed man” and attributed being overwhelmed by AJ’s disappearance.
“I want my daughter home,” said Hadsell. “That’s what I want and that’s all I want. Anybody who wants to say something about that or get in the way of that, then I’m sorry. So what some ways are unorthodox. I didn’t have anything to do with her disappearance. I don’t know where she’s at.”
