Scream Queens: why this is the show you need to be watching this fall

Now that fall has come around, a new season calls for new television. This fall, a new show premiered, called Screams Queens, which is worth turning on your T.V. every Tuesday night to FOX and watching.

This new series is all about the horrors that are taking place at the Kappa Kappa Tau sorority house on the fictional campus of Wallace University. Two decades before the current sisters moved into their sorority house, better known as “Kappa House,” it was discovered that their was a mysterious death of a Kappa pledge at that was covered up and rocked the campus.

But now, the series chronicles the current day Kappa Kappa Tau members, as more deaths take place at their sorority house and how the campus is dealing with the horrors of the reoccurring tragedies. They require their sorority pledges to being wealthy, white, and elite, and they’re required to bow down to their mean president Chanel (Emma Roberts). After the latest murder, the Kappas are ordered by Dean Cathy Munsch (Jamie Lee Curtis) to open their pledge process to all students, which after the murders, has dwindled down to only the nerdy, outcasts on campus who are considered Kappa “wannabees.”

As you watch, you will soon find out that the school’s mascot, the red devil, is responsible for the reoccurring murders that are happening across Wallace University, specifically targeting the Kappa House and all affiliates.

Who is behind the red devil costume? That is what Kappa legacy and now freshman pledge Grace Gardner (Skyler Samuels) and her random coffee-making friend and lover Pete Diller are trying to figure out as they dig up dirt and go on an adventure to find out what exactly happened at the Kappa House two decades ago.

Though only two episodes have aired of this new series, it has already shown that is a modern take on a classic “whodunit?” by mixing mystery, comedy, horror and a stellar cast together to bring the production to life. Along with Roberts and Curtis, other huge stars that are in the show include, Nick Jonas, (Jonas Brothers) Ariana Grande (singer, actress), Leah Michelle (Glee) and Neicy Nash (Reno 911!).

The comedy on this show mainly revolves around making fun of college students, pop culture and horror stereotypes. The mystery part of the plot will keep viewers coming back episode after episode in order for them to work along with the characters to try and guess who the red devil killer really is.

With the ridiculous plot, humor and music, Scream Queens is a refreshing multi-genre television show that not only appeals to young college women, but it appeals to college men as well with its plot that includes golf fraternity brothers called the “Dickie Dollar Scholars.”

If you are looking for the perfect college-themed show to keep track of this fall, Scream Queens will not only make you laugh but also scream.

Written by Glee and American Horror Story creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, Scream Queens comes on every Tuesday at 9 o’clock on FOX and is a must-see show this fall.
