A 16-year-old juvenile girl in a mental health crisis caused a disturbance at in the Midtown Landings area on Tuesday night, according to Farmville Police investigator Bill Hogan.
Hogan said the Farmville Police Department responded after receiving multiple calls about a girl knocking over trash cans, hitting herself in the head and banging on windows. The police were on scene at approximately 9:42 p.m.
Farmville Police took her into custody, then transported her to Centra Southside Hospital. From Centra, the juvenile was moved to the Staunton Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents, a children's mental hospital in Staunton, Va., for further evaluation, according to Hogan.
A temporary detention order was issued to hold her in the mental health facilities, said Hogan.
No charges have been filed against the juvenile.
