"Pence has a good chance of winning"

Mike Pence Photo

With the upcoming vice presidential debate, the eyes of the world will be on Longwood University. However, they will also be on Mike Pence and Tim Kaine.

In regards to their performance, it'd be nearly impossible to hurt either campaign. The previous presidential debate with continuous interruptions, biases and no real issues talked about was embarrassing to both sides of the spectrum.

I expect that Tim Kaine will do favorably in Virginia. Also, I expect that this debate will help both parties because both of the presidential candidates are not favored by their whole parties.

Pence has a good chance of winning if he mentions everything he has done for Indiana. For example, he enacted the biggest income tax cut in history. Also, the unemployment rate since he took office has dropped from eight percent to five percent. Pence is a strong conservative who has helped the Indiana economy as a governor and continues to stick with his conservative values above else.

Furthermore, I hope that the moderators for this debate will also include real issues in addition to more issues specifically addressing problems that millennials are facing.

With that being said, the media is often reluctant to include issues that we (college students) want to hear about because we have the lowest voter turnout. If we aren't voting, why do they care about our opinions?

In conclusion regardless of how different this election is, be sure to research your party, its candidates and all options. Also, keep in mind, as a nation, the racial tension is at the highest it's been in years, the middle class is almost non-existent and our national debt is nearly double that of what it was in 2008. We cannot afford four more years of the same liberal policies.
