Farmville Police, Longwood Police and Virginia State Police officers responded to a shooting on South Main St. this afternoon, resulting in one minor injury, according to an Oct. 16 press release from the Farmville Police Department.
There is no current threat to the public, said the release.
Suspect Laila Johnson, 33, is wanted for questioning by the Farmville Police after she allegedly opened fire at a Mitsubishi SUV from behind a nearby residence following an altercation with one of its four passengers, said the release.
The incident left one the passengers with minor injuries due to debris from the gun fire. She was transported to Southside Centra Hospital, treated and released, according to the release.
The Farmville Emergency Communication Center received the call reporting the shots at approximately 4:02 p.m., said the release.
The release described Johnson as a "light-skinned black female weighing approximately 120 pounds and 5-6 in height" with black and brown hair highlighted orange and blonde. The suspect was last seen driving a 2005 Volvo SUV with license plate "LAIOFF."
