Diversity

Four people sit before me,

Two female, two male.

One is foreign,

One is young,

One is relaxed,

One is strict.

If I were blind, I couldn’t tell their race.

If I were deaf, I couldn’t hear their dialect.

If I were both deaf and blind, I would only believe them to be humans.

Four people sit before the world,

Two female, two male.

One is black,

One is white,

One is a liberal,

One is a republican.

If the world were blind, they could tell their race.

If the world were deaf, they could hear their dialect.

If the world were both deaf and blind, they would still see them as unequal.

Even though we all live on one Earth,

People still see each other as unequal.

Not me.
