SGA Brief: March 28

In the March 28 Student Government Association (SGA) meeting, Senior Jonathan Bland, member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. attended the meeting in request of approval of the allocation of $1,000 from the SGA.

The allocation would be for members of the fraternity to attend a convention in Las Vegas, NV. It would also cover the travelling and lodging fees.

The allocation was approved by the SGA.

Senior Danielle Duncan, president of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. also attended the meeting in request of approval of the allocation of $306 from the SGA.

The allocation would cover travelling, lodging and food fees for the members to attend the Eastern Regional Convention in Alexandria, VA.

The allocation was also approved by the SGA.

Both allocations contributed from money distributed by the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), as stated by treasurer Dustyn Hall.

Hall also stated that the swearing-in of the elected candidates for the SGA will be on Apr. 10 and will take place in the Lankford Student Union at 6 p.m..

One senator stated that Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. will have a group member presentation on Sunday Apr. 2. The event will take place in front of the Ruffner Fountain at 7:13 p.m..

The SGA meeting ran for a duration of about 15 minutes, which was quicker than usual.

The next SGA meeting will be on Tuesday Apr. 4 in the Martinelli Board Room in Maugans Alumni Center at 3:45 p.m.
