We all know the struggle of walking into Sephora and having that mini-heart attack while looking at all the products: Nars, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Urban Decay and Too-faced Cosmetics, to name a few.
The feeling of dread is all too real when a college student with barely $20 in their account sees the $46 eye contour palette or $30 blush.
So, how can a college student have luminous cheeks that glow to the gods or at least don't look dead when they're going to class?
When in college, budgeting is a key factor. What some people don’t understand is that makeup is something that is a necessity, like food and dorm items.
For some, it’s nice to at least have a tube of concealer or mascara for a simple look. Others feel a bit more comfortable with a few coats of mascara and eyeliner, maybe some dabs of concealer to hide blemishes and that’s perfectly okay.
This article isn’t about analyzing why we wear make up on the daily because each person has their own reason.
The purpose of this article is to help college students on a budget buy products cheap, but with the same quality as the most prestige, luxurious brands.

If one suffers from dark circles under the eyes like myself, I swear by the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer. One too many all-nighters made me desperate and beauty blogger, Lucy Purtface made it looked like instant magic so I bought it and it did not disappoint.
The product easily concealed the dark circles I had, plus it has a nice fragrance. The concealer comes in six different shades from neutralizing to brightening. At $7, it’ll save college peeps from looking like zombies during our 8 a.m.

Now, NYX - my favorite drugstore brand. Anything they have I can guarantee the quality. They are everywhere from Walmart, CVS, Ulta and even stores like Macy’s and Belk here in Farmville, VA.
At $4.99, depending where you get it, the famous matte, black eyeliner lasts for hours and is so easy to apply with the precision brush for that extra, smooth edge.
Plus they have more than just black or brown shades, they have other major colors too, like green and blue for festival pleasures.

And finally, mascara.
I always put on mascara even if I don’t have anything else, a habit I know most girls keep. Total Tease mascara by Maybeline, priced at $6.99 compared to the $40 mascara by Too-Faced Cosmetics, is definitely worth a try.
They are both the same quality and work with just one coat on the lashes like Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara.
Good mascara for me, is when I just need to work on a few swipes since I usually put on mascara when I am in a rush for fuller looking lashes. Total Tease does just that. Right before class, I can put it on and it’s instant results.
