Humans of Longwood: Sara Robertson and Taylor Thomas-Harris

Sara Robertson was in a car accident in her early teens that left her paralyzed from the belly-button down. Taylor Thomas-Harris was born with cerebral palsy. Both women's disabilities have inspired them to seek degrees in social work.

Sara:
"I chose social work because I would like to help people and eventually I would like to become a licensed clinical social worker. Hopefully I can work and more clinical settings like hospitals and work with people who have had spinal cord injuries to help them adjust and get the resources they need once they leave the hospital and Rehabilitation  ... I want to encourage people who are going through what I've been through. I want to tell them if I've done this then you can."

Taylor:
"I am a social work major because I want to help people who have disabilities because I can relate to them in so many ways. I want to help provide the resources and Technology to help them succeed in school and become independent on their own."
