Upon arrival at Sleeping Bee, entrants are greeted by a vibrant setting of colorful options to brighten any room, while also adding opportunities to find unique gifts for a friend or special someone.
Sleeping Bee came to 301 North Main Street in Farmville in November 2006, and offers "a collection of distinctive gifts, personal accessories and home decor", according to their website.
The store carries the latest products from YETI, such as coolers and tumblers, along with apparel for both men and women while also showcasing the Puppie Love brand. Through their work with Puppie Love, Sleeping Bee donates $3 from each t-shirt profit to the local Southside Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), which dedicates its time to the "welfare of companion animals in Southside Virginia", according to the SPCA website.
Along with YETI products, the store also carries big name-brands that are very popular for their demographic.
Craig Mills, co-owner of Sleeping Bee, said the items from Tervis, Socksmith and Anna Grace are also big hits with college students. There is a full display of Tervis options ranging from sports and college logos to decorative color designs and occupations. The Socksmith variety gives customers a chance to express themselves through a wide selection of socks ranging from food to animals and more, while the Anna Grace brand is available in Comfort Colors fabrics and showcases different print designs on t-shirts.
The products don’t stop there as the Sleeping Bee also offers creative dinnerware, Longwood University and Hampden-Sydney College signage and decorative flags.
Mills said the store looks to have options for those both young and old, and is decorated according to season throughout the year.
The store can be contacted at (434) 395-1089, and is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
