In this week’s Student Government Association (SGA) meeting, the senate met online to discuss the changes that are being made due to COVID-19.
In Open Forum, it was announced that events are being looked at on a case by case basis, but it is looking less likely as the days progress that anything within an eight week window will happen. As of this time, there is no information regarding whether or not Commencement will happen on May 16 or if it will be moved.
In the Advisers’ Report, Dr. Tim Pierson said that the university is trying to keep information as current as possible, and they are making decisions based on the guidance they are receiving and what is best for everyone.
In the President’s Report, Haleigh Pannell announced that SGA elections will still be happening, but it has been moved online. The mandatory campaign meeting will be held through Zoom on March 24 at 5:30 p.m.
In the Vice President’s Report, Catherine Swinsky said Elwood’s Cabinet executive board applications are out now, and they will be due on April 1.
In the Treasurer’s Report, Samuel Torpy announced that all budget hearings will be held virtually, and if anyone has any questions, feel free to reach out to him.
In the Historian’s Report, Megan Bland announced that the last day for new clubs to be approved will be April 14, so all constitutions and presentations must be made before then.
The next SGA meeting will be held virtually through Zoom on Tuesday, March 24 at 3:45 p.m.
