Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic began, society as we know it has been turned on its head. These unusual times have been especially difficult for sports fans. With all major sports postponed until further notice or cancelled, sports fans are now looking for scraps in what was once a cornucopia of sports content. Fear not sports fans, we at The Rotunda have found a few select sporting events that you may find interesting that are airing in the coming days/weeks.

If you are a college football fan, or an NFL fan looking to evaluate prospects before the upcoming draft, then you may find interest in the re-airing of the 2020 Rose Bowl between the Oregon Ducks and the Wisconsin Badgers airing Easter Sunday at 12:00 p.m. on ESPNU. This matchup showcases the many talents of Oregon quarterback and top NFL draft prospect, Justin Herbert.

In this game, Herbert did not have his best game passing the ball, throwing for 138 yards, no touchdowns, and an interception. But if he’s a top prospect in the NFL Draft, then you already know he can throw. What made him the impact player of this game was his three rushing touchdowns, despite the fact that he is not known for being a running quarterback. If you are a fan of a team that is picking high and needs a quarterback, this game will help you see a new dimension of the man who could potentially be your team’s next franchise quarterback.

Speaking of top NFL Draft prospects, fans can see the exploits of last year’s Heisman Trophy winner and popular choice for the number one overall pick, Joe Burrow leading his LSU Tigers to their first national championship since 2007 on Easter Sunday at 3:00 p.m. on ESPNU following the 2020 Rose Bowl. If you are an LSU fan looking for a pick-me-up in these trying times, or a Bengals fan evaluating the player who could be your team’s next franchise quarterback, or just a fan of quality college football, then this is the game for you.

In this game, Burrow led his Tigers against the Clemson Tigers for the right to claim the 2020 college football national championship. In this game, Burrow showed exactly why he’s the favorite to be taken number one in the 2020 NFL Draft by throwing for 463 yards and 5 touchdowns en route to a 42-25 win. This game also features many other top draft prospects such as Clemson linebacker Isaiah Simmons, LSU edge-rusher Klavon Chaisson, LSU wide receiver Justin Jefferson, and Clemson wide receiver Tee Higgins, all projected first-round picks.

If you are more of a baseball fan, then you can tune into MASN at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday April 14 for game seven of the 2019 World Series where the Washington Nationals captured their first World Series title in franchise history. This is a very important game for all D.C. sports fans as it is the most recent title that the city has seen, and the third major sports title that the city has seen in the last three years.

Given that the Nationals were underdogs during their entire 2019 playoff run, this game serves as the culmination for all D.C. sports fans who were there through it all. Even if you are not a Nationals fan or D.C. sports fan, this game was also a quality one, with the score being 6-2 and the game coming down to the wire.

If you are more of a fan of live sports, the aforementioned NFL Draft will be airing on ESPN and ABC on Thursday April 23 at 8:00 p.m.
